Transformation
Transformation
I had a really weird dream that seemed so real. I dreamed that my son had a tattoo of a pineapple on his calf. I asked him why he wanted a pineapple tattoo and he said that he thought pineapples were cool because they completely grow out of their plant into a fruit that is completely separate from where they came from. Then the pineapple fruit is cut and becomes independent from the plant and doesn’t have any part of the original plant. I thought it was so sad that he wanted to be completely separate from his heritage and roots from his home. The dream seemed so real.
I saw my son and I realized that he didn’t have a pineapple tattoo and all of it was just a dream. I talked to him about the interpretation and then we just chilled and thought about it. Then later, my husband told me that pineapples outgrowing their roots is a normal progression. It is the same as a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. The butterfly doesn’t look at all like its original body, but is transformed to a beautiful new creation. That is what is supposed to happen with our children too. Having our sons and daughters look different than we do when they grow up isn’t a bad thing. They have different talents, and new families, but they are transformed and doing their own thing to make their world a better place.
When people come to Christ and receive Him into their heart, they become new. They don’t see things from merely a human point of view, but they look at things differently. They have a new perspective just like children do when they grow up. They see things from the lens of Jesus. Their hearts transform from being connected to the world to being connected to God. The old life is gone. Now new things are waiting for them: new faith, new hope and new love. They may look the same on the outside, but the transformation will be amazing like a butterfly loose from its cocoon. The possibilities are endless when we live in Christ’s freedom. Thank God for this transformation.
Lord, show us the transforming life through Christ. We don’t have to be bogged down in sin and pain, but You can transform us into a new way of life. We want that life, Lord and we ask you to show us what it is like to live a new life with you. The Old things are gone and behold all things are new. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen
2 Corinthians 5:4,5
So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ from a human point of view. How differently we know Him now. This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun.
