Spider Webs
There is a wave or should I say webs of spiders in our yard. They are enjoying all the air around me. When I am walking under any tree, they are there. Half the time I don’t even see the web so I start taking a stick around with me to break the web. It’s so funny sometimes because I will see a random leaf hanging in the air and wonder how in the world that web was so strong to hold up that leaf and keep the spider continuing to spin.
This morning I was on the porch for a long time, enjoying the cool October weather. I looked up and saw webs all around me. There were probably 8 spiders on my porch. No wonder I’ve been getting so many spider bites! I don’t even realize they are around me and yikes…their sting is painful! I guess they are getting ready for Halloween.
Life can be like a spider web. We can be going along and start getting involved with something we shouldn’t be doing or be in a trial of life that we didn’t plan. Either way it can be looming in the recesses of our mind, or we can be so caught up that we get stuck in it. We have to decide if we are going to let this situation consume us, or if we take that Sword of the Spirit which is God’s Word and put it before us to break that web. If we learn to prepare ourselves for situations that could cause us to derail, we will be ready to listen to the Holy Spirit and not get stuck in the web. During the trial, we can lean on Christ and have wonderful Joy in the Journey as we spend time with Him and see Him at work.
1 Peter 4:12,13
12 Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. 13 Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
Lord, help me to see you through this trial in my life. I know you never leave me or forsake me. I trust you and look forward to seeing Your glory in this situation!
In Jesus name, amen
