Going Deeper
Isaiah 12:2,3 See, God has come to save me. I will trust in Him and not be afraid.
The Lord God is my strength and my song; He has given me victory. With joy you will drink deeply from the fountain of salvation!
I am teaching swimming lessons this summer and I love it. It is a process for someone to learn to get their head in the water and to be confident swimming underwater. As they progress, they learn how to touch the bottom, which is a big deal to touch the bottom for the first time. Then, I like to throw out rings to see the students swim out deep and watch their reaction as they come up with the rings in their hand. It is fulfilling for them to know that they have conquered the fear of going deep.
Going deeper takes time spiritually too. We learn about the Lord and draw close to Him. When we realize that God has come to save us, we can drink deeper into His word. He gives us strength and shows us a new song to sing. He gives us victory.
I love to think about the fountain of salvation. To me the fountain represents His grace washing over me and cleansing me like never before. He gives me joy as I drink deeply from this fountain . No one or no circumstance can take away the Joy of my salvation through Jesus. Just like swimming in the deep end, His love and grace is refreshing and fulfilling!
Lord, thank you for your fountain of salvation that flows through us. I want to go deep and experience you. I am thankful that I have Joy in your salvation in every season of life.
In Jesus name, amen
