Finding Joy in Wisdom

I have been reading proverbs and it has so many verses about JOY. I was surprised to learn that because when I think about gaining wisdom it doesn’t come easy. It takes work and talking to the Lord to learn what He thinks is wise. Gaining understanding takes time and meditation in the Word. Who wants to follow a list of instructions?

Everyone wants joy, but do we want to work for it? Do we want to just zone out and watch everyone else act like they are happy while we are bored and envious of what they are doing? Joy is the knowledge that we are following what God wants us to do, and we accept Him at His Word. I know from experience, when I take time to be with Him, He teaches me about the peace of knowing that He will take care of me in all situations. He brings things to my mind that are important. That understanding gives me joy!

Lord, I find joy in your wisdom and following your precepts. Help me as I learn and grow to be more dependent on You every day. I want to understand your ways and find Joy in the Journey. In Jesus name, Amen
